SBRT Ltd Weapons Disarming Course Knife Crime

Prepare Your Workforce Against Knife Crime With Weapon Disarming Training

Sadly, the number of knife offences in the UK is rising. The news is becoming full of tragic stories where innocent people are losing their lives in knife-related events. Furthermore, this is not just a concentrated problem in one area of the country. In 2018, 42 out of 44 police forces across the UK reported a rise in knife crime.

The rise of knife crime

In 2018, there were 42,957 reported incidents of knife crime in the UK. However, from 2006 until 2015 there was a significant decrease in knife crime admissions to hospital. However, since 2015, the number of hospital admissions for knife assaults has increased. Doctors are saying the issue is getting worse, with the injuries being more severe, the victims becoming increasingly younger and the number of girls becoming involved.

From September 2017 to 2018 285 homicides were committed by a knife which is the highest figure on record since 1946. Furthermore, in the UK, two in every five killings is due to a fatal assault with a sharp object or stabbing.

“We are hearing in the news that the number of people being stabbed is at an all-time high and it seems that no one is safe from knife crime, regardless of where you live in the UK. However, we hope that our Weapons Disarming training course can help to instil the confidence in individuals who may face the threat of an armed assailant.

Our course is incredibly hands-on and practical. We work hard to give you the information and background you need so that you can easily retain the information and use it in the moment to help protect yourself as a last resort. We hope you’ll never need to apply what you’ve learnt, but if you do have to deal with an armed assailant, we prioritise your safety.” – Nick Attard, Director of SBRT Ltd
